Eugenio Llamas Pombo, Of Counsel at Solium Legal, will take part on 10 and 11 September 2026 in Terni, Italy, in the international conference “Regole e princìpi del mercato bancario ed assicurativo: solidità del sistema e protezione del cliente”, focusing on some of the main legal challenges currently affecting banking and insurance markets.
The conference will bring together academics, legal practitioners and professionals from universities and institutions across Europe and beyond to examine issues relating to financial system stability, customer and consumer protection, banking and insurance regulation, and the new challenges arising from technological transformation.
Opening plenary lecture
Eugenio Llamas Pombo will play a prominent role during the first day of the conference.
Following his participation in the institutional opening session, he will deliver an opening plenary lecture on Thursday, 10 September, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m., immediately before the beginning of the conference’s specialist academic sessions.
His participation reflects an academic and professional career closely connected with civil law and with the analysis of issues relating to liability, contracts and the insurance sector.
Banking regulation, insurance and customer protection
Over the course of the two-day programme, the conference will examine some of the main legal challenges currently facing the banking and insurance sectors.
Topics include the solvency of financial and insurance institutions, insurance distribution, policyholder protection, regulatory compliance, intermediary liability, credit guarantees and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
Artificial intelligence and digitalisation will also feature prominently, with sessions addressing issues such as algorithmic systems in financial markets, consumer protection in relation to new technologies, the use of artificial intelligence in insurance and automated credit assessment models.
An international perspective on the evolving financial sector
The programme brings together professionals from universities and institutions in Spain, Italy and other jurisdictions, providing a comparative perspective on matters of growing relevance to financial institutions, insurance companies, businesses and consumers.
The conference will provide an opportunity to examine how customer protection mechanisms and regulatory requirements are evolving in a context increasingly shaped by digitalisation, artificial intelligence, sustainability and the growing complexity of banking and insurance products.
Eugenio Llamas Pombo’s participation in the conference reinforces Solium Legal’s presence at international legal forums and the firm’s commitment to specialist legal analysis and continuous professional development in areas of particular relevance to legal practice.
At Solium Legal, we remain committed to the participation of our professionals in academic and legal forums that encourage the exchange of knowledge and the analysis of key regulatory and business challenges.
